Molly’s Answer
I think all of us throughout our careers have felt underpaid and overworked at certain points. Money is important but I find flexibility equally as important. For example- I can work 32 hours a week and be considered fulltime and receive healthcare benefits and work 2-3 days a week rather than 5 days a week. Picking up extra shifts are an option to making money. If you were a salary employee, any hours worked extra are not paid.
Nursing is a wonderful profession and it has many different avenues that you can take throughout your career. Finding the role that fits your personality will be worth it!

Not all nurses are overworked and underpaid. This description may apply to the majority of nurses at the bedside, but not to nursing as a whole. The job opportunities for registered nurses are vast. There are many environments that are not as fast-paced as bedside nursing that pay well.
