Is Physical therapy a good major to go into if I am trying to become a Sports Medicine Doctor?
I am still trying to decide where I want to go into in med school.

Of course physical therapy is a wonderful option if you want to be a sports physician.
But sports medicine also have subdivision so you decide for yourself what subspecialty you want to pursue or you want to be a generalist.

Having a background in Physical Therapy could be a perfect fit for a Sports Medicine Specialist role. It could certainly give you an edge when it comes to treating athletes. My own field, Podiatry, has a branch dedicated to Sports Medicine. My personal experience as a Division 1 soccer player in college has been invaluable throughout my career.
This experience has been particularly beneficial in understanding a wide range of injuries. This solid foundation has been instrumental in aiding athletes to recover and rehabilitate from injuries to the lower extremities. I've also relied heavily on local Physical Therapists to assist with nearly every athlete I've had the honor of treating.
