Hello Sophia,
As a fresh college graduate, I understand that you might be seeking more certainty. However, I assure you that the best opportunities often come when you're well-prepared and focused on your goals. If there's a specific career path that sparks your interest, delve into it. Find out what classes could bolster your knowledge in that field. Pursue internships that align with your aspirations. Show your passion and commitment towards your ultimate goal by consistently taking steps towards it, no matter how small they may seem.
The transition from college to the real world can seem intimidating, but it's also an exhilarating journey. I encourage you to maintain a positive attitude towards your future, embrace your independence, and tackle challenges head-on. If you're interested in acquiring a new digital skill, Linked-In Learning is an excellent platform. Outside of Linked-In, there's a plethora of online courses and scholarship opportunities available if you're looking to master a specific skill.
Wishing you all the best in your future pursuits!
Research a career or field you are interested in
Leverage Linked-In to see how people in this field made it to where they are now
Research various digital skills, see which is the best fit, and earn a certification

Hi Sophia,
As a graduate, the journey after school can be both exciting and a bit daunting. My plan was to dive right into my career while also continuing to learn on the side.
Beyond the workplace, I see learning as a lifelong endeavor. I plan to carve out time each week to explore online courses on platforms like Coursera or LinkedIn Learning. They have fantastic options for developing skills , which I think would be invaluable for my career. I also plan on connecting with local professionals through networking events—there’s a chamber of commerce in town that often hosts meet-ups. That way, I’ll not only gain insights from their experiences but also potentially find mentorship opportunities.
Surviving in this new phase will mean balancing work and ongoing education while also managing my finances wisely. I’ve started budgeting my expenses meticulously and even looking for part-time gigs that could support me while I get my foot in the door. Ultimately, I anticipate that life after college will be full of challenges but also rich with opportunities to grow both personally and professionally. Looking forward to seeing where this journey leads me!

Hi, Sophia,
I respect your question, as I was once your age. When in school, there is a desire to get all the answers now and not later. I encourage you to change your focus now to what is immediately in front of you, whatever you do after high school. In college (or business school or trade school or military) you will begin answering your questions. And each year, the answers will change somewhat as you learn more and experience more in life and in your chosen courses and career. This may seem that I'm avoiding your question, but I most definitely am not; I am answering the unspoken intent behind your question. I think you will do well because you are already viewing the future chapters in your life.

hey,
After school, the key is to figure out what you want to do and take it step by step. It's totally normal to not have everything planned out, but having a general idea of the path you want to take will help. If you’re aiming to learn a digital skill, there are so many resources out there, from free online courses to bootcamps. The important part is staying committed and practicing regularly. You don’t need to know everything all at once—just focus on getting better bit by bit.
Life after college is an adventure. You’ll likely face some challenges, but that’s part of the process. Whether you're starting a job, learning new skills, or even launching your own project, it’s all about being flexible and making the most of the opportunities that come your way. It’s okay to take your time figuring it out—just keep learning and staying motivated, and you’ll build the future that fits you.
All the best!
