Adit’s Answer

Technology is all about the cool gadgets, systems, techniques, and devices we create to fix issues, boost productivity, and make life better for everyone. It covers everything from basic tools like wheels and levers, all the way to high-tech stuff like artificial intelligence and quantum computing.

These days, when we talk about technology, we usually think of digital stuff - computers, the internet, software, and IT systems. But technology isn't just about that. It's also about breakthroughs in important areas like healthcare, transportation, and manufacturing.

In a nutshell, technology is the handy use of science that helps us move forward as a society.

Peter’s Answer

The word “technology” comes from roots meaning “means of gain” and “expression of thought.” Roll that around in your head for a moment, and realize what that implies: our technology is not the objects that we make, or the tools with which we make them, but the knowledge that we find ways to express—and to share—about transforming the natural world to create human value. Making stuff, or doing stuff, is only an outcome, however important that might be: it’s what a culture’s “technology” enables. More on this at https://diginomica.com/technology-embodied

Deeshani’s Answer

Hi Chuck,

It’s basically using science and knowledge to create tools or methods that help solve problems or make life easier. But it’s not just about something digital or hi-tech. Even a simple tool like a hammer or a wheel is considered technology. Technology can be anything—from ancient inventions like fire and farming tools to modern things like AI and robots. It’s all about innovation. It’s like applying ideas to make things better or more efficient.

Anthany’s Answer

Technology has a lot of implications but I think in general it refers to innovations within our world that assist us in completing tasks. For example, simple tools such as a shovel is a form of technology. While it does also refer to digital things such as computers, its not limited to that

Biplab’s Answer

Hi Chuck,

This is one of the more "shower" thoughts questions I've seen here, and happy to chime in.

Technology is, to me, one of the key drivers that separates us from, well, animals! Our ability to create, use, replicate, and improve solutions to problems in order to enable us to do more tasks better and faster is our technology.

Hope this helps, but I'd love to know what technology means to you!
