How do I put myself out there for internships/shadowing?
I am currently a sophomore in college and on my journey to getting an associates degree in Radiology and wish to get another associates in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Diagnostic Sonography. I would like to do some internships or shadowing for both radiologist and ultrasound technicians, but I do not know where to start.

Hello Noel,
Hospitals and radiology clinics often provide opportunities for students to learn by shadowing or interning with their staff. You might consider reaching out to local hospitals in your vicinity to inquire about such opportunities. Many medical professionals have benefited from this kind of practical experience on their journey to certification, and they are usually happy to mentor students in return.

In addition to Jocelyn’s answer, I recommend reaching out to your community college and local volunteer opportunities - you never know when a valuable contact may appear.
And be prepared to collaborate as it can be helpful to offer help when you can so they keep you in mind as they go. It’s impressive when someone says, “Hey! I want to help where I can”. Also known as quid pro quo - something for something.

I would recommend you create a profile in LinkedIn or another app related and put a lot of effort in your Resume, you can find multiple internship options there.
Also follow through LinkedIn or do a google search to the main companies you would love to work in and see if they have open opportunities for students.
Also keep updating your Resume constantly with courses, conferences you take and different skills you have through those networking apps, so it can be helpful for you to create a presence there and get different options to work.
Hope these tips will help you out on this work research. Good luck!!!!
