What the key differences between undergraduate and graduate school?
I'm a current undergraduate student who will be graduating in the spring (if things go according to plan), and while graduate school wasn't originally part of my plan, it's something I've begun considering. I've found that there seems to be less advice out there regarding grad school as opposed to undergrad, possibly because graduate school varies a lot more depending on which field you're planning on going into. For reference, I'm considering pursuing a Master's in Higher Education, so I'm wondering what to expect from graduate school. Is it more hands-on than undergrad? Did you feel that it was more demanding because you had to balance studies with an assistantship or something like that? #school #college #schools #colleges #graduate-school #graduate-schools #university #universities #undergraduate #graduate #undergraduates #graduates #advice #college-advice #experience #experiences #future #masters-degree #degrees #degree #higher-education #education #july #july20 #scholarship
For anyone who has made a successful career change, what were the most important things you had to do, or what advice would you give others looking to do the same?
I'm a current college student, so I haven't officially started my career yet, but I'm extremely anxious about doing so, especially now that the pandemic has changed life as we know it. I've changed my career aspirations several times already, but now I'm nearing graduation and I'm still terrified that I'll wind up in a career I don't enjoy. Whether you ended up changing careers because you were dissatisfied or because you found better opportunities in another field, I'm really interested in hearing the experiences of professionals who have been in a situation like me. How did you overcome your worries, and what advice would you give to someone else? #career #career-counseling #careers #career-advice #future #career-options #college #college-student #graduation #career-change #career-switch #career-changes #career-switches #advice #july #july20 #scholarship

I am currently studying education and one of my certification tracks is ESL. What is good advice to get prepared for Teacher Certification Exams?
I am currently studying an undergraduate degree on Middle School Education in Texas. Although I am about to start my second year of college, I will be graduating earlier than usual and would like to start getting prepared for the certification tests. I am kind of concerned since I am an international student from Mexico and I am not yet 100% familiarized with the American education system, and I think it would be key to perform better on the tests. #education #JULY20 #JULY #teachercertification #career #college #ESL #Texas
Which Universities are best for masters in manufacturing and product management or 3d printing?
I am a final year mechanical engineer and I'd like to do my masters in a course where I could build innovative products using my mechanical design skills, though not aesthetic, I'd like its function to help make life easier. An example would be a smartwatch making things more accessible, or even the eraser at the end of the pencil. #career #engineering #mechanical-engineering #JULY
Training for a job on my resume?
I was hired for a teaching position in March and I completed all the training, but then all the in-person classes were cancelled and they didn't have enough online students for me to teach online. I still technically work there and I'm waiting for classes to return to in-person. Should I include this on my resume? The training was around 24 hours and quite hands on so I think I learned a lot. #jobs #july20 #july #resume #covid19 #teaching #training

What are the main differences between a PsyD and a PhD in psychology? What do schools look at in terms of qualifications for acceptance?
I am a senior undergrad student getting ready to graduate with a B.S. in social sciences this December. I am interested in pursuing a higher degree in psychology, but would like to know the main differences between the PsyD and the PhD. I have heard the main differences are that research experience is necessary to be accepted into PhD programs and that PsyD programs are a little bit shorter in terms of years to complete. Are there any other major differences between the programs? How do I know which one is right for me? What are schools looking for in candidates applying to these programs and what can I do to increase my chances of acceptance besides a high GPA and decent GRE scores? Thank you so much! #phd #PsyD #gradschoolprograms #July #doctorate-degree
How can I gain the necessary research experience to qualify for acceptance to a psychology PhD program right out of undergrad?
I am a senior getting ready to graduate with a bachelor’s in social sciences this December. I plan to pursue clinical psychology and would like to apply to PhD programs straight out of undergrad. I am desperately seeking a research internship, as I know they are necessary for acceptance, yet so many programs have halted due to Covid-19. How can I gain the necessary research experience? Are there any alternatives which would make me attractive as a candidate? Any advice would be so greatly appreciated! #research # psychology #Clinicalpsych-PhD #July
