What happens if I get a sub-par GPA in my first trimester of Freshman year Will it impact my total GPA significantly??
I got a 5.3/6.0, and I aim to get above 5.7 all 4 years. Also, my classes are decently difficult and will maintain the same difficulty throughout this year.

Hello! I am not familiar with the 6.0 scale, but it really all depends on what field you want to go into as to its significance. Different industries have different requirements. As to how gpa is calculated going on is a mystery to me, but that sounds like a still pretty high gpa? I would suggest talking with your college advisor (or whoever helps with that kind of thing).
When looking for employees of my company, we would prefer to see a high community involvement with a lower gpa (volunteer work, clubs both related to your career interests or clubs that highlight your interest) over a high GPA but no extracurricular activities. Involvement in the community shows that you still have a work life balance which you will need here in the real world past college ;).

Thank you so much for the advice.
