Hello Gabriella!
What a fantastic question you've asked! It's particularly relevant in today's world where social media is king, and your visibility on these platforms can make or break your brand recognition.
To embark on your journey to becoming an influencer, here are some steps to consider:
* Identify a specific niche that you're passionate about and begin crafting posts around it, be it videos, photos, or other forms of content.
* Develop a strategic content plan. This includes deciding on your content themes, frequency of posts, optimal posting times, and sticking to a consistent schedule.
* Consistency is your best friend. Whether you choose to post thrice a week or just once, maintaining a steady rhythm is crucial as audiences appreciate predictability.
* Take the initiative to do your homework. Investigate who your preferred brands have previously collaborated with, what made these influencers appealing, and what unique elements they brought to their content. Drawing inspiration and learning from other creators can be incredibly beneficial.
* Make it a point to post regularly. The more you put yourself out there, the more visibility you gain! Plus, as you continue to engage with social media, you'll develop a better understanding of content editing, what resonates with your audience, the best times to post, and what brands are looking for.
Wishing you all the success on your exciting journey!
Warm regards,
Shaneil

Another path to think about is working on the "other side" of influencers. There are a lot of jobs that would position you to work with influencers but that would give you a steady income with health benefits. A few ideas are:
- work as a talent representative. A lot of influencers have agents who work at places like WME
- work in marketing for a big brand. The big companies (think Coca Cola, Pfizer, etc.) have teams that work specifically with influencers to create ads, this could be an interesting experience for you
- work at a PR/marketing agency that comes up with ideas of how brands can partner with influencer. they come up with a lot of the creative ideas you see influencers producing. Agencies include places like Edelman, Weber Shandwick, Burson, and many more.

Hi there Gabriella!
I think in today's age, there are a lot of individuals out there who are considered 'influencers' without truly knowing what it would entail. I strongly recommend a few things before you start getting into this very high-volume niche:
- Consider what you want to 'influence': Are you interested in make-up? Fashion? If so, how do you want to influence other people? What is your main goal or mission if you want to follow this path? Establishing a goal for yourself first is the foundation for success. Some people may do make-up because they want to inspire others how to best present themselves if they have low self-esteem and boost their confidence. Find your mission and your goal, and stick with it! Find what makes you passionate.
- Test, test, test: What I mean by this, is start your own influencer account on a social platform. Start with one to really align your focus, and look under trending hashtags for your niche to see what is popular or what performs well. Don't copy, but ask yourself what about the content other people are creating interests you as a person, and build off of that. Considering your goals or mission, what kind of content should you create for people? After you ask those questions, use those questions to create your content. Make sure you're recording videos that are short and straight to the point. Make your content relatable, simple, and easy to follow. Test how your content does by using hashtags, not too many, that are relevant to your post without being too broad. The way to stand out is to make your content stand out amidst so many others.
Stay up to date ALWAYS on social media trends, follow a few newsletters through email to get updates! I find this to be most helpful for me, following other profiles, subscribing to newsletters, and just generally keeping up to date so you can follow popular trends and social media tools to really advance in the space.
Wishing you the best with this!
