What colleges are recommended the most to know enough about criminal justice to become a police officer?

I am a 10th grader. I am still trying to figure out what i want to major in. By me knowing the colleges that are the most recommended and also colleges that now a days police officers have been to it would help a lot; because i might major in criminal justice. Any location would be fine #criminal-justice #law-enforcement #college-selection #criminal #crime

John Jay in NYC is a great school - they have a terrific Police Sciences program. Keep in mind, however, that while majoring in CJ is great, it's not always a requirement depending on what you want to do. Some of the law enforcement officers I know have also studied things like law, public policy, and political science. I also agree with the previous poster - your grades are critical so make sure it's something that's in or close to your field of study AND something you're really interested in. You'll do well!

There are quite a number of colleges with good criminal justice programs. Some top schools are:

CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice

Michigan State University

Northeastern University

Pennsylvania State University at University Park

University of Albany (SUNY)

University of California at Irvine

University of Cincinnati

University of Maryland at College Park Campus

But, remember that while the school does matter, your college grades and GPA are really important too.
