Engineering in a broad way could be computer science or other paths like chemical/electrical engineering etc. There are always good jobs in most of the paths. The hot favourite is Data science / AI now , but anything foundational helps to tweak your career as per your passion.

Hello Eniola, You ose an pinteresting question. The previous answers suggest more STEM/STEAM courses. I will offer an alternate view. The way the world is today, it is important to understand what is going on in our society, in our government(s) and in other countries. Yes, STEM is important right now. Consider what is going on with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and all of the environmental activity. If you pursue an engineering or science degree, you will be able to contribute to pretty much any of those activities.
But, while you work as an engineer, it is worthwhile to realize what drives people to make decisions and to adopt technology or not. In our society today, you can see that division between our political parties. Just about everybody has an opinion about climate change and whether we should be taking action or not. You may have a say in that when you enter the work force.
So, I suggest that you give some focus to the humanities. Once you start college, you won't have as much time for the non-technical courses (although many universities do require you to earn credits in non-technical courses). You will want to be a good communicator in your work. Learn to write and speak to your audience to get your ideas accepted. Learn to be effective when working in teams.
