How to prepare for a soccer showcase with collage recruits?

I always wanted to play soccer in collage and now is my chance! But I don't really know how to prepare. Now keep in mind I'm already doing heavy conditioning and strength training with my high school right now. And I wouldn't like to push my body to hard because of the already 8 practices a week. But! There should be a way to prepare without going over board. Please help!

The Soccer Showcase sounds very exciting and will be an experience to remember !

I'd like to begin with a caveat. No one online should be giving you advice about physical conditioning because they can't see you, they don't know you and your complete medical history. That would be for your own safety. Only authorized professionals can determine your training as well as a medical professional if need be - but not online.

That being said, you stated, " I'm already doing heavy conditioning and strength training with my high school right now. And I wouldn't like to push my body to hard because of the already 8 practices a week." This is being done under supervision and on site the way it should be. Why would you want to risk injury by adding more - it would indeed be "going overboard". You seem to realize that. Just keep doing what your coach or trainer is requiring you to do and nothing more in the way of physical training. The people overseeing your training know what they are doing.

There are other ways to prepare other than physically. Make a video of your best moments in soccer, video clips that show you performing. E-Mail the scout a week before the showcase and then again a day before, attach the video and give an introduction in the body of the e-mail. This may help you stand out.

E-Mail the coaches who will be there and describe who you are and how they can recognize you during the showcase. They may focus on you more during the showcase.

Remember to be professional. If your parents are attending, remind them to be subdued and not chit chat or go to talk to the coaches. At all times on the field, be poised. alert and positive. When the showcase is over, the next day send a video to other coaches who weren't there and talk about your experience at the showcase.
