1. Coursera- Logo Design
This course covers basic design principles, how to build a logo, and how to think conceptually. You'll also learn the tools used for designing logos and branding.
2. Udemy- Logo Design Masterclass: Learn Logo Design + Illustrator
This course is focused on both logo design theory and practical skills, especially using Adobe's Illustrator. It's very beginner-friendly and goes into detail on color theory, fonts, and creating unique logos.
3. Skillshare- Logo Design: From Concept to Presentation

4. LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda)- Logo Design Techniques

Hey Mahnoor! It’s great that you're interested in learning logo design! There are plenty of ways to improve your skills from home, especially with the vast amount of online resources available. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get started:
### 1. **Choose the Right Software**:
- **Adobe Illustrator**: The industry standard for logo design. If you can get access to it, that’s the best option.
- **Canva**: Great for beginners, it’s easier to use and still offers a lot of design features.
- **Inkscape**: A free alternative to Illustrator, and it’s powerful for vector designs like logos.
### 2. **Learn the Basics of Logo Design**:
Before jumping into creating logos, it's important to understand the principles of design. Some free online courses you can try are:
- **Coursera**: Offers free courses on graphic design basics, including logo design.
- **Udemy**: You can find beginner courses on logo design for under $20. They often go on sale.
- **YouTube**: There are tons of free tutorials where you can learn how to create logos step-by-step. Channels like "LogoCore" and "Will Paterson" are very helpful for beginners.
### 3. **Understand the Design Principles**:
A good logo isn't just about making something look pretty. You need to keep the following principles in mind:
- **Simplicity**: The best logos are often simple and easy to recognize.
- **Scalability**: Your logo should look good at any size, whether on a business card or a billboard.
- **Versatility**: Your logo should work in black and white as well as color.
- **Relevance**: It should reflect the business or concept it represents.
### 4. **Practice**:
The key to improving in logo design is constant practice. Try redesigning existing logos, making logos for fictional brands, or even experimenting with different design styles. The more you create, the better you'll get!
### 5. **Join Online Communities**:
- **Behance**: You can share your work, get feedback, and see what others are doing.
- **Dribbble**: A great community for designers where you can post your logos and get constructive critiques.
### 6. **Get Feedback**:
Sharing your designs with others can be a huge help. You can ask friends, family, or online design communities to give you feedback. This will help you refine your work.
### 7. **Stay Inspired**:
- **Follow other designers** on Instagram or Pinterest. Seeing other people's work can spark creativity.
- **Explore logo design books**: "Logo Design Love" by David Airey is a great read for logo designers.
### Bonus: **Work on Real Projects**:
Once you feel confident, try designing logos for small businesses, or freelance sites like **Fiverr** or **Upwork**. This will give you real-world experience.
By following these steps, you’ll not only learn how to design logos but also improve your overall graphic design skills. You’ve got this, and with practice, you’ll see a lot of improvement!

Im a pro artist for over 10 years and I have to say youtube and Udemy are great. Also remember you must educate your eye. Sit down and dedicatate a block of time every week to just looking over graphic designers work thats better than yours. Use ai agents and ai chatbots to help you search. You actually have more tools now to do what used to be done slower. You could even use Ai to help you design.
