if I want to do something in the fashion industry, but also want to do something in the music industry, is there any way to do both?
I'm a seventh grader who is interested in both fashion and music. If I did end up making songs, I'd use vocaloid software (Vocaloid is a bunch of voice banks that you can make sing and there's a lot of good songs made with it!). I also love fashion, and would love a job related to fashion as well. Are there any jobs in both industries I could do at the same time?

Hey Avery!
That’s awesome you want to do both fashion and music. You totally can! A lot of people do multiple things, and honestly, having both skills can make you stand out. You could combine the two in cool ways like designing outfits for musicians or music videos, or maybe even starting a brand that blends music and fashion. Have you seen how artists like Kanye West have their own fashion lines, or how some fashion designers make clothes for musicians? You could totally do that!
You could also be an influencer and share both your music (using Vocaloid, which is awesome by the way) and fashion stuff on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube. There’s a huge community for both, and people love seeing creative combos of different interests!
Do you think you’d want to focus more on making music or on designing clothes? Or would you want to do both at the same time? There are definitely ways to make it work, it’s just about finding the right balance!
Good Luck!

I would start by doing theater! Local programs or even your school can help you do costume design for the actors. And a lot of the time, you could be the actor as well. With this experience, you can create a portfolio for an arts school to get even more experience. This will open up opportunities for internships, organizations, and networking and will allow you to have a credential under your belt to use elsewhere. After maybe an associate's or bachelor's, you can find somewhere fit for your interests that provides a lot of opportunity. Even without college, you can get places, you just need the networking and job experience part of it to get started. There's not one job that provides both fashion and music without focusing on one more than the other. If there is, it's usually because you're an independent artist who has to do it all themselves. You can make it happen if you try hard enough and find the right people and places. Good luck!

I'd say you pick any and try to be good at one first before venturing to the next. Both industries are not far apart, but its good you start from one.

There is a lot of overlap between all of the arts, you cant exactly get a job that encompasses both in a traditional sense, but getting into both fashion and music is pretty common. I must recommend using real singers for your songs simply to keep the industry alive. Just because AI exists, it doesn't mean we should use it.
