Gaurav!

Excellent field. Mobile applications is one of the fastest growing field. First major in Computer Sciences or Software Engineer and you can work in any of these fields relating to Smartphones. Honestly, Software engineer is more sought out than Computer Sciences.

With Software Engineer degree, you could apply to pretty much any computer related degree such as Programmer, Web Developer, APP developer and etc. Programmer would benefit you if you were looking more on a hardware factor.

Hope this helps! :-)

Hey Guarav!

In addition to majoring in Computer Science (which is not actually different than software engineering), just make things. The more you make things, the more experience you have, and the more appealing you will be to employers. Since the internet has information on everything you might need, you can teach yourself! I got into iOS development by accepting a contract for some apps and taught myself while making them.

If you have an apple computer, you can download Xcode and get right to developing iOS apps. They are programmed in Objective-C or their new scripting language, Swift. You do need to get a developer's license for $100 if you want to deploy or release apps though, so it may not be the ideal place to start. If you do decide to try, I've found Ray Wenderlich's tutorials to be AMAZINGLY helpful. http://www.raywenderlich.com/category/ios

Otherwise, you can start with Android apps! These are developed in Java. I think the cost of releasing is lower (or free? especially if you just make the apk available for download somewhere). I haven't built an Android app before, so I'm not sure. Seems like Ray Wenderlich also has tutorials for android! http://www.raywenderlich.com/78574/android-tutorial-for-beginners-part-1

Hope this helps!
