Hey there Nkosana!

Well that is the dreaded "Tell us about yourself" question. It’s like a pop quiz, buuut except there are no wrong answers… unless you start reciting your life story like a Wikipedia page. Please don't 😅 because The trick is to keep it short, fun or serious, and not make the interviewer regret asking. 👀
Start with something simple—who you are and what you do. No need for dramatic backstories or monologues. Think of it like the first line of your movie trailer. Then, sprinkle in what makes you great. Are you a problem-solver? A team player? Someone who always remembers to bring snacks? Any important skills, u know!
Throw in a little personality. Maybe you love challenges, have a weirdly good memory for random facts, or secretly enjoy untangling headphone wires. Make them see you as a person, not just a walking résumé.

End strong. Something like, "I love what I do, I’m always up for learning new things, and I bring my best to every team I’m part of." Bam. Instant good impression.

For example, me? I’d say: "I’m a doctor, which means I spend my days diagnosing things, trying to keep people from Googling their symptoms, and drinking an unreasonable amount of coffee. I love solving medical mysteries, working with a team, and making sure my patients feel heard. And yes, I do get asked weird medical questions at parties. It’s fine. I’ve accepted my fate."

Now go out there, own it, and don’t overthink it. You got this Nkosana, good luck! If you have any further question hit me up! 😉🤗
