If you'd like to be an attorney, I would look at law school rankings (these are published by different groups, such as US News, Princeton Review, etc) to get a rough idea of how law schools compare. I'd also talk to attorneys/judges in your state (or the state where you want to practice) to see what law schools are highly regarded.

If you'd like to be a district attorney, try to identify the particular DA's Office(s) you'd like to work for, then try to talk to prosecutors at those offices. Explain that you're interested in a career as a prosecutor and that you'd like to get their opinions on law schools.

They'll probably have opinions on which law schools are best for this purpose; moreover, the more prosecutors you talk to, the better you can get a sense of what law schools are represented at those offices. By reaching and talking to a lot of prosecutors, you can also start building relationships, which can help your future career chances.
