You have chosen a very exciting, interesting career goal that has a very wide market, so I think you will do well with this career ! The first thing to know is that the career is Marketing and the product is Beauty.
I would advise getting a Bachelors Degree in Marketing. You will need to know everything about marketing, promotion, management and advertising. The degree will be crucial to have. Most internships are done in the Junior and Senior years in college because you need a general base of knowledge to actually work in marketing. You'll need experience, too, which you can do through marketing projects and practicums in college. You will also meet people to network with who can help you and become great contacts for work - all through going to college. You didn't mention your grade or if you already have college.
The Marketing Internships that are available in New York City for High School Students are not connected to the beauty industry. They are internships for marketing at Kaiser Permanente for New York City high school students, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NASA, Ogilvy & Mather, and New York City's Department of City Planning. These focus on Marketing. Olgilvy and Mather would be the best because they are a marketing and advertising firm.
I left a link below of a list of marketing certifications you can take. Read the information to see if you qualify to take these certifications. Words on a resume mean very little. You will need to be familiar with the work, aware of mostly all beauty products and companies and present a confident knowledge of the field. So there really aren't any "buzz words" that will get you a career job. It takes education, networking, attending conferences and trainings and a college degree.
So more than how a resume reads, learn the marketing industry inside and out, become familiar with the beauty companies that are in New York City, learn great interviewing skills and be tenacious. This and formal education will take you far.
