Hi Elise, Your decision to pursue a double major in graphic design and digital marketing is well-founded, even in the evolving landscape influenced by AI technology. AI serves as a tool that can automate routine tasks, allowing professionals to focus on strategic and creative aspects that require human insight. In graphic design, AI can assist with tasks like generating design variations and automating repetitive processes, but it cannot replicate the nuanced creativity, emotional intelligence, and storytelling abilities inherent to human designers. Similarly, in digital marketing, AI can analyze data and predict trends, yet the development of compelling campaigns and understanding of consumer behavior rely heavily on human expertise. By embracing AI as a collaborative tool and continuously honing your creative and strategic skills, you can enhance your employability and remain competitive in the job market. Staying updated on industry trends and being adaptable to technological advancements will further ensure your relevance in these dynamic fields…wish you all success

It's great to hear about your passion for graphic design and digital marketing! The integration of AI technology into these fields is indeed reshaping the landscape, but rather than limiting your job prospects, it can actually enhance them if approached strategically. Here are some key points to consider:
AI as a Tool: AI technology is becoming a powerful tool in graphic design and digital marketing. It can automate repetitive tasks, analyze data, and generate insights, allowing professionals to focus on more creative and strategic aspects of their work. By embracing AI, you can improve your efficiency and effectiveness.
Evolving Skill Sets: As AI tools become more prevalent, the demand for professionals who can use these technologies will grow. Learning how to leverage AI in your design and marketing efforts can set you apart from others in the field. Consider gaining skills in AI-driven platforms and analytics tools.
Creativity and Human Touch: While AI can assist with design and marketing tasks, it lacks the human touch and creativity that professionals bring. Your unique perspective, storytelling ability, and emotional intelligence are invaluable qualities that AI cannot replicate. These skills will continue to be in demand.
Lifelong Learning: The fields of graphic design and digital marketing are constantly evolving. Stay adaptable and commit to lifelong learning. By keeping up with industry trends, including advancements in AI, you can remain relevant and competitive in the job market.
Diversified Opportunities: With your double major, you'll have a diverse skill set that opens doors to various roles, from creative design positions to marketing strategy development. This versatility can make you more attractive to employers, even in an AI-driven environment.
Networking and Collaboration: Building a strong professional network is crucial. Connect with industry professionals, attend workshops, and engage in collaborative projects. Networking can lead to opportunities that may not be advertised and help you stay informed about industry changes.

Hi Elise!
For me and my team, AI is an essential tool that enhances our design work rather than replacing it. If you have strong design skills, AI can take your work to the next level by streamlining tasks, expanding creative possibilities, and making complex projects more efficient.
In my experience, AI has helped automate tedious tasks, allowing me to focus more on design. It has also enabled me to create things outside my prior experience and generate highly specific images tailored to different projects.
For example, we produce a weekly market news show where we handle everything from filming and editing to creating on-screen graphics. We use AI to generate clickbait titles from the video transcript, which saves time and lets us focus more on editing and graphic design for each episode.
For this same project, I also used AI to create motion graphics templates (MOGRTs) for my team. Despite having little experience building these templates, I turned to ChatGPT for guidance. In seconds, I had step-by-step instructions and even used it to troubleshoot issues along the way.
Beyond that, I’ve leveraged Adobe Firefly and Photoshop’s generative tools to create highly customized images. One standout project involved transforming team photos into comic book-style illustrations. Instead of manually adding effects or piecing together multiple images, Photoshop’s AI tools handled it in seconds—giving me more time to add creative details that elevated the final look.
Hope that helps!
