What questions should I ask fellow incoming college freshmans while looking for a roommate?

I am going to the University of Florida this fall! We will be sent an email where we give our preference on who we wish to room with. I've just created an Instagram account in the hopes of finding other Class of 2029 UF kids!

Hi Gabrielle,

Congratulations on getting accepted, and I'm so happy for you. It is definitely a milestone for sure, and living on campus is definitely a must-have experience.

I didn't stay on campus when I went to college; I wish I did for sure, and to this day, I have some regrets.

If I were looking for a roommate to cohabitate with, these are some questions I would ask:

1. Are you an early bird or night owl?

2. What time of day do you tend to do your homework or study?

3. What is your organization style? Meaning, do you like to keep your room clean and neat? or on a messy side?

4. What type of food do you like?

5. Do you know how to cook or like cooking?

These are just some sample questions. For me, I am a neat person, so I think it would bother me if I were living with someone who doesn't tidy up. I also am an early bird (wake up early and go to bed early by 9pm)), so I would prefer someone who has a similar sleep pattern as me to avoid any conflict.

I hope this helps, and good luck with your search!

Warm regards,
Cathy
