Self-Motivation lacking

What other ways can I keep up my self motivation for school? When my life gets dark.

Thank you comment icon I know this phase can feel a bit overwhelming. Finishing school is a big milestone, and figuring out what comes next isn’t always easy. If you’re feeling unmotivated right now, that’s okay—you’re not alone. But I want you to know something important: you’re at the start of a journey where you can become anything. You’ve got time to explore, to learn, and to discover what truly excites you. Not everyone figures it out right away, and that’s perfectly fine. The key is to stay curious. Try different things, talk to people in various fields, take up small projects—even if you’re unsure. Sometimes, the spark you’re looking for comes when you least expect it. You’ve got so much potential, and this is just the beginning. Take it one step at a time Harshith Hanthur Manjunath

Howard’s Answer

Dear RaeAnne,

Finding out why you're feeling unmotivated is the first step. It might be stress, a busy schedule, or not having clear goals. Once you know the reason, you can start to change your mindset and find the inspiration you need.

As a college professor, I've seen many people face similar challenges. Here are some tips to help you succeed:

1. Take care of yourself: Eat well and get enough sleep. This helps you have a good and productive day.
2. Think positively: A positive attitude can open up new ideas for doing well in school and work.
3. Set goals you can reach: Make small goals and work towards them step by step.
4. Celebrate your wins: When you achieve a goal, take a moment to enjoy it. This boosts your confidence.
5. Surround yourself with positive people: Spend time with friends who are motivated and happy. Their energy can inspire you.
6. Talk to your boss, teacher, or mentor. Let them know you want to improve your motivation. They might have helpful advice.
7. Choose happiness: A happy mindset naturally makes you more productive.

I hope these ideas help you find your motivation. I'm cheering for you and wish you great success in everything you do.

Best,
Prof. C
Thank you comment icon I just wanted to reach out to you for taking the time out of your day to respond back to my question. I am going through some stuff ight now...our only mode of transportation just broke down; the engine seized up the other day, and me I don't currently work. Though being diagnosed as a schizophrenic after my battle with meth addiction was finally over. Currently almost 5 months clean now! Today has been a better day for me. I'll definitely take your advice to heart and try these new skills to help alleviate some stress in my life. :) RaeAnne
