Jordan’s Answer

You'll need a reel. That can be a few short films, commercials or music videos. Only by seeing your work will you get hired. Best to you!

Mark’s Answer

Hi Latianna,
It's difficult to get hired to direct a film. I would suggest writing a short script with a friend for 10 minutes. Then get a budget of $1000 from friends or family members.
You could also take a look at a Kickstart program on Twitter or Facebook. Gather your friends or fellow students to film at a location where a friend or family member lives. Why not film using your mobile phone? Edit the film on a computer. Maybe blend a music into the climax. Of course, provide lunch and dinner, so everybody enjoys your work. Take a look at the film festivals where you could submit your reel. A producer might enjoy your style and voice, and ask you to meet at the studio. Best wishes, Mark Wagner
