Hi Cheyenne, this is a terrific question and Chanelle has given you sound advice. Here are other thoughts:
1. Instead of passively rereading, actively test yourself on the material. This could involve quizzing yourself, writing down answers without looking at your notes, or explaining concepts out loud. Being active gets the information into your brain more.
2. Make up mnemonics to help you remember. They could be rhymes or pictures or anything else that works for you.
3. Study with someone else. Pick different sections to teach to each other. Explaining concepts to someone else forces you to organize your thoughts and identify any gaps in your understanding.
4. Make sure you set up a study environment that works for you (is comfortable, has good light, has all the materials you need, no to minimal distractions). If you can't focus, try studying in another place. Sometimes a little change makes a big difference.
5. Take regular breaks to help maintain focus and prevent burnout. Maybe a little fresh air or nutritious food or drink will help.
Good luck!
