What is the best kind of poetry to read if I want to major in English?

I've spent time in AP English Literature and Composition, but I wanted to explore the poetry out there, but I'm not quite sure where to start. #aplit #english #poetry #writing

There really is not the best kind of poetry out there to read. In fact, if you want to major in English, you have to read a lot more than poetry. You need to read (and also write) different kinds of writing styles and techniques. However, if you want your focus to be on poetry, then that would be a different kind of question entirely.

Poetry is categorized as “creative writing” and you could have a concentration in that area as an English major.
