Hey Nathan:

I'm a project manager at a marketing research company. We work with a bunch of cool companies, and they come to us with research questions (ie. what do customers think of this new juice label, do customers recycle their deodorant packages-- to name a couple of random examples) My job is to pull the team together to deliver on this request. I assign someone to the project, and they'll design the research, then I make sure that the research report is delivered on time, and within the client's budget.

There are a lot of moving pieces, and my job is keep everything organized, so that the researchers and reporters can focus on their own jobs, and not worry about budget, all the emails, etc. My job is to make everyone's life easier and make sure they're good at doing their job!

My salary is in the 40,000 range, and I've been out of college for 1 year and 6 months.

There are TONS of opportunities in business management. You can work in any field, which is great! No matter the industry, there is always a need for management professionals who can lead a team, keep work on schedule, and ensure that everyone is communicating.
