Should I take AP Biology or Honors Anatomy/Physiology HS Junior Year?

I've already discussed with my counselor on what classes I will be taking next year as a Junior. I'm taking two APs for sure, which are AP English Language and AP US History. However, I'm determined to do another AP which is AP Biology. I don't know whether I should take AP Biology or Honors Anatomy or maybe do both! The problem is I have to replace one class, and I thought of replacing my art class but I still need the one-year requirement for visual and performing arts to get into a 4-year college. Right now, my counselor has placed me to be in Honors Anatomy next year. I haven't talked to her yet about changing my schedule if possible, but I will very soon. Because I want to major in medicine hopefully in college, AP Biology would help me later on and I plan on taking AP Chemistry in my Senior year.

If you are confident that you can handle the workload, YES. Take both coures, but if you do find yourself falling behind or overwhelemed, make sure you focus on time management. If you can only take one course I would suggest taking the AP Bio course because it can count toward college credit and you won't need to take it during undergrad. AP courses also look great on your college applications. Either way, both will look great on your applications ! Best of luck!

I'm taking AP Biology senior year but I thank those who have responded to my question and offered me guidance! Lauren

Start with the colleges you want to apply to and work backwards from there. You don't want to accidentally do all the work of studying for and doing well on an AP exam only to end up not actually needing it for college credit. Every credit you can substitute is worth the time invested, though. I was able to graduate a semester early with the AP credit I had saved up.

I took 15 AP classes in high school, and I HIGHLY recommend taking them whenever you can. Here's why: 1. Taking AP classes gives you a good foundation for your college education. Even if you end up repeating you introductory class in college, having the advanced background will be immensely helpful! 2. If you score a 4 or 5, your college may allow you to skip the course. This may help you graduate early! 3. Some colleges prioritize registration for courses based on academic credit. So, if you come in with more credits, you'll be able to register before your peers! Avoid 8AM classes. 4. Some colleges require you to take an SAT subject test to apply. These will be really hard to do well on if you haven't taken an AP course. Take APs as a junior so you can take the tests as a senior!
