Sheila’s Answer

Hi Matthew:

This is a great question. When I was in college I was involved in extra curricular activities, worked a full-time job, and carried a full load of courses. I started out by making a schedule of my activities. I wrote down everything on my calendar. You've received some great comments from the CV Professionals on this topic. Best of luck to you!

Tamika’s Answer

Where your attention goes so does your time. The things we like best we can zone out and spend all day on those activities neglecting other tasks that are a “must”. Don’t procrastinate! Try to compartmentalize and focus on the things that require immediate attention first. Make a schedule and work diligently to adhere to it.

James’s Answer

Hi Matthew,

Great question! I'd like to make a small comment in addition to the two other responses: be realistic with your time expectations (that is, how long do i really think this assignment or activity will take). Obviously it's impossible to plan for every unknown, but the key point here is to budget time according to how long you think you can honestly complete a task, or how long you want to devote to the task at hand.

Best of luck!

James

Caitlyn’s Answer

Matthew -

First of all, that's amazing you have so many great things happening in your life! Secondly, you can do this! My biggest piece of advice would be is to make yourself a schedule.. set aside time to focus on school, set aside time to work out, and make sure you also give yourself some YOU time. It's all about balancing. Having a scheduled plan of activities will bring you peace of mind and you'll know where you need to be and what you need to do, when.

Good luck!

Caitlyn recommends the following next steps:

Buy a planner / use an online planner / your phone calendar
Pick a day that you will sit down to prioritize each weeks activities
Take some YOU time!
