Senior year tips?

It’s my last year of high school and I’m beginning to seriously look into colleges. My previous years were not too hot, any suggestions and helpful tips to do better for college applications?

Thank you comment icon I started realizing the importance of college about 15 days before applications were due, you definitely have a head start! Writing is a powerful tool to open opportunities. You can check out https://www.goingmerry.com/c/caitlinp-l0dy and it can help give you interesting prompts. They mostly look for personal growth, authenticity, and passion! Do not cram your life story in 500 words! instead pick a moment where you really felt like you learned a lesson or discovered something about. A great way is pick something you are passionate about ex. sports, clubs, extracurriculars! Caitlin

First, have you identified colleges you may be interested in attending? After that you have to look at your GPA and test scores and see how they compare. There are so many colleges which do not require a 4.0 for entrance. There are also many that are test-optional. If you have a compelling story about why your academics were not the best, be sure to address it in your applications. However, you may also benefit by attending community college. This would allow you to strengthen whatever gaps you have in your academic record as well as save money. With community college under your belt, you would then transfer to a 4-year college. Good luck!
