I am a college student right now and I have had multiple scholarships. I would recommend applying to your desired universities scholarships, those have been the easiest for me to obtain. You can always call the financial aid office ask them what internship opportunities they have and many times all you need is a certain GPA. If a scholarship requires an essay my biggest tip is focus on what you enjoy. I used to write scholarships essays and tell them everything I had done before and it did not seem very personable. I instead started focusing on what I loved which was volunteering but I was very specific about what events made an impact and why. Another thing I do is I look up certain companies and look up whether they have scholarships. So many companies have scholarships but they do not tend to advertise them so that is a great way to look for smaller scholarships.

Hi Isabella,
The best way to get scholarships and other opportunities is to have the ambition to apply for them. There's a funny thing that happens where once you start adding scholarships and other positions to your resume, the people reviewing your application will say "Hey, XYZ thinks that this person is deserving, so we should too!". Start out with smaller things and work your way up.
Ultimately, this isn't a silver bullet that will get you any scholarship–it only works if you combine it with hard work in school–but having the ambition to go apply for things like scholarships (jobs are the same way!) will greatly help you differentiate yourself from other applicants.
