Hi Lilly,
This is a great question. Helping your local community is very important and parks often can use some help. I would recommend that you go to your local park and start by picking up trash. Be sure to wear protective gloves when you do it! If you could fill up a whole trash bag and split up the trash from the recycling, that would be great! In addition, I would recommend you reach out to your local city government or Park Service to see if you can help in other ways. They often appreciate volunteers helping with gardening and upkeep. Good luck and have fun!
Best,
George

Awesome job on wanting to help out in your local community. You could start by volunteering to pick up trash at your local park and get your friends involved. In the spring and summer time you could also get involved with children activities by becoming a tour guide or aide. Here's the link to getting involved in your county. . . . .https://parks.traviscountytx.gov/about/volunteer. Best of luck to you.

There are many things you can do! You can get involved in local volunteer events that do park cleanups. If there aren't any events like that, you can go on your own and pick up litter, and get your friends involved too! At my work, we have park beautification events where we weed and pick up litter at local parks.
