Hi Christopher,
Because Philosophy is not necessarily a trade skill, but rather an area of academic enlightenment, there is no real industry for this degree other than advancement to a PhD and teaching it on the college level. So your job prospects will include a variety of things that involve using critical thinking skills the hiring entity assumes were acquired when you obtained a bachelor's degree. In other words, most entry level positions that say "bachelors degree required" or "bachelors degree preferred" would hire for this degree because they are looking for someone who is college educated. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Hi Christopher,
Philosophy provides an excellent preparation for law school and other professional programs, as well as a solid foundation for a career in business, teaching, writing, or public service.
Philosophy graduates are found working for almost every type of employer in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Opportunities are available in arts-based areas like publishing, the media, journalism, advertising and teaching, through to computing and IT.
Typical employers include:
- local government and the Civil Service
- advertising, marketing and public relations agencies
- management consultancies
- secondary schools, further education colleges and higher education institutions
- law firms
- publishing companies
- charities
- banking and insurance companies
- accountancy firms
- recruitment agencies.

Cheers,
