Hi Ashley,
The internet is always a good place to start, but be aware that everyone else will be looking in those same places online that you are. When searching, be as specific as possible. If you belong to an organization or you have a specific skill, search there. Some examples to Google for scholarship information might be:
- college scholarships for orthopedic nursing students
- college scholarships for children of government employees
- college scholarships for student volunteers
- college scholarships for left handed people
- college scholarships for great-grandchildren or descendants of WWII veterans (or active military)
- college scholarships from .... (enter company or organization name here) -
Some of these may sound silly, but you get the idea... you never know what's available until you do soem creative and/or specific searches that pertain to you, your talents, and even your location. When I was a student, there was a scholarship available to anyone living within 1 mile of railroad tracks (offered by the railroad, of course).
I highly recommend that you visit your local library. You will be shocked how many resources your librarian will have available. They could also be keyed into ideas for local scholarships.
GOOD LUCK with your searching!
