Good morning Stephanie,
Congratulations on your decision to return to school. I am currently attending online school as well. While it affords many liberties, the best thing I find works for me is to schedule time for my readings and homework. This a good way to get into a routine and get things done.
I also find that having my books on my mobile device helps since I can read whenever a free moment comes up.
There are classes you may find harder so be sure to set aside a little more time for those!
Enjoy learning!!!

Great question, and it’s an important one! One of the best tips is organization. Make a schedule and plan your tasks out

Plan at least one hour three days a week to do school work so that you can stay on track for the weekly deadlines

Hi Stephanie! It sounds like this is an exciting time for you! I am currently in school online, working full-time, as well as taking care of a household, so I have some insight on this topic. When I first started school online, I waited until the day that the assignment was due to handle it. That's not a good way to go. It increases your stress, and it impacts other aspects of your life. A calendar will be your best friend, but you have to schedule in time for your life as well. When they open up the classes ahead of time, when possible, get started and log in your assignments on your calendar as well. We wouldn't be very happy if we just worked and went to school right? Be sure to have some fun and enjoy life as well-even if you have to schedule it-it is important! Good luck!

Congrats on going back to school. This is something I am very familiar with, organization is key, use calendars to help keep you organized, keep your work personal and school schedules together. Set class room time, home work time, and study time. Schedule it out and if you end up not needing it you gain the gift of time so make sure you do something to reward yourself. Balance and organization will help reduce the stress and workload.

I want to college As an independent student. I had to get a job. Start your 1st semester off with just classes. By your 2nd semester it's OK to get a part time job, we try to start with a job on campus. That is what I did come and it allowed me to network with my peers, and the rest of the administration for my school. Ask to be scheduled an hour or two after classes. That way if you need to study you can do that within a specific time period and still make it for work. I would recommend a work study job on campus especially if you don't have a car.
