Elizabeth’s Answer

Hi Noah!

If you want to explore what careers may match with your personality type, I recommend taking a Meyers Briggs assessment. It describes you personality traits and mentions types of jobs that may be a good fit. Of course, your interest in the jobs it mentions is crucial.

Fred’s Answer

There are lots of positions in the sports world that aren't being an actual athlete. Trainers, coaches, managers, scouts, etc. all work directly with athletes. Or you could work in the "front office", doing marketing, accounting, sales, promotions...

Think about other things you enjoy doing. Are you interested in business? Math? Medicine/health care? There is probably a way to combine it with sports.

Nadia’s Answer

Hi Noah,

There are so many different areas of sports that you can become involved in. Think about what else motivates you and look into that. Do you like building relationships? Are you a good lead? Do you have good negotiation skills? What excites you?

These questions should help guide you into finding a career fit for you.

Mary’s Answer

It's great to understand what you do like and what some of your limitations are when it comes to working. There are a few other things that I would ask myself before looking for the right career. The first one is what do I want out of a workplace environment, my manager, and my ability to advance? The second thing I would ask is what values are important to me in life? The third thing I would ask is what am I good at and enjoy doing?

Once you have these answers, you can do a Google search for jobs related to sports in that focus area. As you examine the companies and the position, see if it fits most of the criteria listed above. Good luck with your job search!
