Though it's rare to receive a full culinary scholarship in advance of application, there are ways to obtain significant scholarships and offset the expense through work-study programs while in school. Scholarships- https://www.unigo.com/scholarships/by-major/culinary-arts-scholarships https://www.accreditedschoolsonline.org/culinary-schools/financial-aid-scholarships/

As a trained chef and now executive in our industry, I've traveled the world and have met many amazing people and professionals and would not trade it for any other industry! The hospitality industry can be challenging, but it's also rewarding and provides opportunity to travel, work nationally and abroad and it's very guest service driven and high-touch, so if you're a people-person, it could be perfect for you! You can also eventually create your own business and create your own success as an entrepreneur and visionary through the industry if that's your goal!

Being a Chef or business leader in the hospitality industry (hotels, restaurants, Food Retail) can be a very rewarding and satisfying career choice!

I would recommend you apply for scholarships and obtain real work experience in local restaurants, even if starting as a cook-apprentice, steward or bar-back/bus-boy just to gain exposure to the industry to see if it's really something you'd like to do professionally.
