Francisco’s Answer

I got my AA in Criminal Justice and while I was doing that I joined my city's police department as a Police Cadet. Being a cadet is great because you get to see the life of a police officer from first hand. You get to see how some officers/detectives solve cases. There are also Police Explorers who are mostly for younger people, such as high school students.

As for political science, what I did is I got involve with the Mayor in my city and volunteered at every event the Mayor would host. Sometimes is hard to know how to get involve with the mayor but if you attend one event, and talk to the people who are volunteering they would be glad to tell you how you can sign up. Those events are usually open to the public and they're post on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and even flyers around your city.

Rachit (Richi)’s Answer

I can answer the political science part of the question. So depending on your education level, there are a host of internships you can do. Interning at your local representatives office is always an option if you are in high school or above. For college students, try to network with your professors and try to get research internships. If you're interested, you can always intern for political campaigns.
