-Limit your show watching and social media time. I doubled majored in college with a 3.88 GPA and was involved in many clubs while also maintaining a social life. I watched 1-2 hours of shows/movies per week while my peers would watch 2+ hours per day.
-Set a schedule for yourself. Try to wake up and go to bed at similar times regardless of when your classes are. This will get you into a routine.
-Depending on your campus layout, you will be doing a lot of walking. Multitask by calling your friends/family on your walks.

Hi Alexis H. I see that you posted this question a little while ago so I hope my answer to you (or others who may read this response) is still helpful.

For sure, there is no shortage of opportunities to get involved with campus life. Oftentimes, first year students are overwhelmed with all of the options they have for engaging in clubs and other great aspects of campus life. My thoughts on effectively managing your time is to give yourself some time...that is give yourself some time to observe and figure out how to balance your academic success (cuz let's face it, you are at college to graduate :)) with your ability to engage in social settings. One of the best things about being in a campus environment is participating in it. There can be those times though, where that campus engagement overshadows your academic work. Right sizing the two takes a little practice but giving yourself the time to figure where you want to start and how much will likely lead you to an enriching and balanced outcome.

Best of luck to you!
