Hi there! Congratulations on your interest. Typically for any type of major in the medical field you can expect to take all the math and science classes that you can possibly stand, e.g, A LOT! Strictly speaking, no--you do not need to be a science major. But generally you will need a minumum of a year of biology, a year of physics, and two years of chemistry. You will also need to take calculus. Typical course entrance requirements for U.S. dental schools are posted here, on the website of my alma mater, NYU College of Dentistry:
