P.’s Answer

University of Pittsburgh is a great choice for education. They offer diverse content area certification, and is a nationally recognized school. The workload is difficult but pays off. Next I would recommend Point Park University in Pittsburgh. The School of Education takes a humanistic approach to education, but the courses are extremely relevant to the real world. I have used my teaching education from Point Park to get a variety of education and education-related jobs. Other great choices would be Duquesne University, Penn State University, University of Pennsylvania, Villanova University, and Lehigh University.

When choosing a college there are many factors to consider: location, tuition, campus life, resources, campus amenities, and so much more! Take your time when choosing a university so you can end up somewhere you really love! And don't forget to tour the campus--that's super important. Good luck!

P. recommends the following next steps:

Research universities
Set up a campus tour
Ask as many questions as possible
Look into shadowing a college student for a day

Given you are in PA, I would say University of Pennsylvania although it is one of the highest ranking schools in the nation. If you do a quick search on the internet for schools in the area, you will see the best ones for an Elementary Education degree. Take a look at LeHigh University as well. Goodluck!
