I would suggest a number of courses in the social sciences in order to prepare you for a psychology major. Psychology can be very writing intensive, so concentrating on your English, research and writing courses is necessary in order to prepare yourself for the the upcoming research writing assignments (and APA citations and style) you are sure to be encountering in the future major.
Universities are increasingly beginning to require Psychology majors to have a firm understanding of Biology. So some courses beyond basic Biology you should look at to help you gain a better understanding of the biological and neurological concepts in involving psychological behaviors.
Many of the social science majors (including Psychology) are beginning to require at least one course in statistics. So taking math classes, which will eventually help satisfy the pre-requisites and requirements needed for a statistics course is always helpful. I would prepare yourself by taking a large variety of Psychology and some Sociology courses as well. Universities are known to have what are referred to as sub-emphasis areas within the Psychology major itself.
You could select a major in Psychology with an emphasis in Developmental Psychology, Forensic Psychology, or even Neuropsychology. So taking courses in Neuropsychology, Abnormal Psychology and Developmental Psychology and others areas are also helpful, which will provide you a good background for a future major and emphasis.
