Also, contact your local Chamber of Commerce and/or Economic Development group. I'm sure they have Architect companies in their network.

My biggest piece of advice would be to talk to someone in architecture. Getting personal insights from someone in a field is extremely valuable. Not only can they give you an insider perspective on what the industry is really like, they can give you tips on how best to prepare. Sometime our expectations on what a certain career is like can be different than what it is actually like. If you can't find anyone in your network, I would recommend finding a Facebook or LinkedIn group dedicated to architects. That way you can see the resources they are sharing amongst each other but also find potential mentors and people to connect with. Another recommendation would be to read as many books as you can!
