If I become a zoologist...
Should I become a zoologist that conserves local wildlife? Or should I try to become a world famous conservationist like Steve Irwin or Jack Hannah. Assuming I could find a way to pay for college. #biology #science #college #zoology

The best way to decide is get involved. A good place to start is to find out what gets you excited! Do you really want to learn more about what is causing coral bleaching and determine solutions to address it? Or do you really like talking to people and educating people about the environment and sharing your love for conserving the plant? You can start each of these careers today by getting involved and finding mentors.
I've found that doing research can be very independent work whereas effective conservationists are excellent communicators that inspire people to take action. Both require lots of research and reading so that you present the correct facts. Depending on what your interest and personality fit - you'll find the right answer!

If you are looking into the science field also look at funding opportunities in your field of study, there are lots of scholarship opportunities if you seek them. If zoology is you interest volunteer at the zoo or local animal shelters. Not only is it great hands on experience it will look great on resumes and scholarship applications.
