I don't think so. If you love to know how everything (almost) around you works, then it will be more interesting than stressful.

Douglas’s Answer

Hi Alex,

I guess it depends upon what type of person you are, some people stress over everything.  But, if you are diligent and keep up with the class work,  there is no reason to become stressed. There is work involved in becoming an engineer, but it is interesting work because it is a subject that you are interested in.  However, I did see students become stressed out, but they were mostly the students who did not attend all of their classes, or didn't do the homework required to keep up with the class.   When it came time to take a test, they were the one who became stressed.  Since I did the homework and did not cut classes, I always had a good idea of what would be on the test and looked at them as a challenge because I was prepared.

I hope this helps,

Good luck,

Doug

Benedick’s Answer

Hey Alex! From experience (failing and retaking classes) , I suggest that you focus on the Concepts and the "HOW" of each topic. Then focus on how those topics RELATE. If you are stuck utilize the Professors' office hours and focus "HOW" related questions. I noticed the 2nd or 3rd time around taking a class the MATH came very easy once I recognized the relationships between concepts. The first few classes will be difficult as you learn the concepts, but the rest is a breeze if you can master the HOW and RELATIONSHIP of your subjects. Good luck to your coming endeavors!

Benedick recommends the following next steps:

Focus on the HOW the topic works.
Focus on how the topics RELATE.
Follow up with professors' office hours and ask HOW and HOW DO THEY RELATE questions.
The math will come easily.
