Generally, the better paying a job is, the more years of college you will need to put in to get to those jobs. So, for instance, law and medicine are two of the best paying fields out there, but you'll need around a decade of post-high school education to get into those positions and often a significant amount of debt to boot.

Dorothy’s Answer

Hi Elizabeth, I agree with Sheila. The best paid jobs include positions in healthcare and information technology. In addition, data analytics, consulting, finance, engineering, and law are other high paying jobs. I found a great article online from USA Today that lists out the top 25 best paid jobs in the U.S.

Please see the link for the highest paying jobs in America: https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/business/2019/03/18/best-jobs-2019-these-occupations-pay-workers-most/39169915/

I found this link to be really helpful, and I hope this can give you an idea on what field or industry to explore. If you have any questions, I’m here to help.  Also I would say for next steps, do a lot of research online such as: Indeed, Glassdoor, and Career One Stop.

Best of luck!!!

Dan’s Answer

There are are a lot of jobs out there that pay well and there is a wide range of salaries. No job is worth doing for any amount of money of you really dislike that type of work (but remember you will not always love everything about your job) . The trick is to find a role where you like the work and the salary is reasonable.
