i want to become a welder but there is a lot of debt involved, is it worth the debt or find another career path?

To minimize costs associated with becoming a welder you might check with job training programs in your area. Often your state job service, unions or trade associations have good insights on locating one in your area. I'd make a few calls to these organizations and see what you can turn up for financial assistance. Sometimes there are apprenticeships where you might draw a small salary while you learned welding.
