Typical Day for Orthodontists
Here is a list of tasks that Orthodontists do every day.
Study diagnostic records, such as medical or dental histories, plaster models of the teeth, photos of a patient’s face and teeth, and X-rays, to develop patient treatment plans.
Adjust dental appliances to produce and maintain normal function.
Fit dental appliances in patients’ mouths to alter the position and relationship of teeth and jaws or to realign teeth.
Diagnose teeth and jaw or other dental-facial abnormalities.
Examine patients to assess abnormalities of jaw development, tooth position, and other dental-facial structures.

Estelle’s Answer
I went to an orthodontist growing up, and I got to know him very well.
Orthodontists usually work in a clinic where they evaluate people's teeth for procedures, such as braces. The orthodontist I knew was busy all day, but he did good work and really cared about his patients.
Additionally, unlike the fields of medicine, there is no call for emergencies and your patients usually are not sick.
It is a great field and I wish you the best of luck!
