KIEYA’s Answer

Hello,

I just graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a bachelors degree in Biobehavioral Health and I absolutely loved it. My field is a combination of biology, psychology, sociology, and human development aiming to promote healthy behaviors in order to prevent communicable and non communicable diseases. I love how my field is broad so I can go into any sort of topic I want to touch on. I had an internship in which I facilitated workshops on variety of health topics including nutrition and fitness, safer sex, sleep, stress, and alcohol. I think that this was challenging but definitely not strenuous or unbearable.

KIEYA recommends the following next steps:

My advice to you is to gain volunteer and internship experience promoting health. Great programs are The American Red Cross and AmeriCorps.
I would also make a Linked In account so you can start making connections with other people who are into health and wellness that way you can potentially find a job in the future.
I would look into going to a school like Penn State because I absolutely loved PSU. weare

Sheilah’s Answer

It really all depends on what you want to do in the field. There are sooo many options these days. I am a lawyer by day but just finished my masters in Health & Wellness coaching with a concentration in Herbal Medicine from MUIH. I say do lots of research, talk to lots of people and figure out a coupe of specific areas you'd be interested in and then check out whether its valuable in those areas to have further education, and if so what kind. Best of luck!
