What the hardest thing about your job for Counseling physiologist

Hi Elijah: In my experience with people that work in that area, I have heard that getting your Doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology, attainment of a state License, having exceptional interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal skills (communication), Empathy and sensitivity when dealing with patients, and good diagnostics and problem solving skills. All of the above can be difficult depending on what kind of personality that you have. Counseling Psychology should be expert in problem solving and good diagnostic skills and this requires a highly analytic mindset and the ability to under stand people on a psychoanalytic level. In this career you are mostly treating patients with emotional crises, stress, and behavioral disorders. the primary responsibilities are offering patients consultations and implementing psychological treatment. Patience is an attribute that is most needed in in this particular career. If you have not taken any kind of career assessment that could help you decide if this is the right career for you, you should find a college that has these assessment such as the SDS (self directed search) and others. I would also suggest taking a Personality assessment to find out if your personality will happy in this career. It is a wonderful career, but please do some research on the classes you need and take the assessment, and even talk to someone who works in this career and follow them around for a couple of days if they will let you. It is very important that you know what they do and that you ask them about this career like, what do they do each day, what are the patients like etc.
