Hello Noelia,

I think some of the questions i asked me when i didn´t know what should i study was:

What my greatest skills are?..what am i passionate about? and what do i want to achieve (impact)? Also personality tests can be a good guide to discover a lot of path possibilities

Rich’s Answer

Personality tests can certainly be a useful tool! Identify a career that you find interesting and fascinates you, keep in mind that interests can change as do careers. Just because you decide to go down one path doesn't mean that you are locked in. Approach

Albertina’s Answer

If you are in the process of trying to figure out what career focus is best for you. I would suggest a simple step to take is to take an online personality test that identifies what your strengths and opportunities are. The best one I have personally taken (free & online) is the the 16 personalities test. The test takes quiet a bit of time, but also gives accurate results. Additionally once you get results you can google to find out more about your personality job suggestions. Another great path is to occasionally search “on demand careers” articles, this will give you some clues as to what jobs are most available and pay well.

Stephanie’s Answer

First, I recommend doing some introspection and asking yourself questions like the one's Samantha mentioned: What are my greatest skills? What am i passionate about? What do i want to achieve? What am I looking for in a career (work-life balance? prestige? money?)? These questions will help you narrow down careers you may be interested in. You can use sights like Vault.com to identify different kinds of jobs. Then, once you've identified a few professions you are interested in, I recommend doing informational interviews with people working in those fields to get a better sense of what the job is really like. You can find people through LinkedIn or college alumni resources. Good luck!

Jesus’s Answer

You need to find a career that your both good at and your happy doing it. It's not worth getting a career that pays a lot of money but you do not like doing, it's a waste of time. Find something that you feel passionate about.

Terrence’s Answer

I had to identify what I was most passionate about. I didn't want to chose a career primarily for how much money I could make, but more so what I could see myself enjoying long term. The worst thing in the world to do is to accept a job for pay that you hate waking up to go to each day.

Matthew’s Answer

Hi Noelia!

A few folks here have mentioned sites such as 16 personalities and also searching in-demand careers to help decide what career is right for you. I've done a few of these and have found them useful.

I would try the following approach. Make a list of 5 careers that you're interested in or just want to know more about.

Once you've done that, do research on on them online and also try finding some connections in-person.

I'm not sure if your school has advisors who actively bring in folks from different industries, but I think that would be a good start.
