How can I figure out what type of path and what types of classes in school to take to help me with my career in the future?

I hope all is well. It can be challenging to decide what career path you want to follow. In order for you to choose classes and the appropriate career path for yourself, you have to figure out what are your interests. I would suggest for you to get a piece of paper and write down your likes and dislikes. Think about your personality and your strengths. Are you an artistic person; tech savvy; do you like selling products or starting a business; do you like helping others; and do you see yourself in the medical or teaching field. These are some of the things that you must figure out so that you can discover where you see yourself. I can say that if you are experiencing difficulty seeking the right path for yourself, it's okay. You are not alone. I remember when I started college, I was majoring in Computer Programming but I realized that it was not my passion. My job and my personal experiences helped me figure out my career path to go into the social work field because I enjoy helping people work through their personal issues. I find it rewarding. Therefore, you have to find something that makes you happy and motivated. If you continue to have difficulty, you can consult with a career counselor where you can participate in taking a career/personality testing to determine your personality and the type of careers that are suitable for you.

Also, you may want to consider to do a vision board where you can visualize where you see yourself and develop a plan on what steps you will take to accomplish your career and educational goals. Usually, you can major in Liberal Arts if you are undecided to select a major. It will give you an opportunity to take a variety of courses based on your interests. Once you figure out what you want to do; then you can declare a major and takes courses in whatever major that you decide to do.
