Hello Kamaile,
Internship is indeed a great stepping stone towards a successful career.
Generally, interns are fresh college passouts who are unaware of the corporate world. As an intern , you will get to know a lot of things, you will get to interact with a lot of people who have your dream job .Moreover, it will also give you a chance, a chance to decide if that job is the right one for you.
Most of the companies analyze your performance during internship, if you perform well, you can get a permanent job. Even if you don't, you will have experience that will help you in getting a different job.
Abhilasha’s Answer
An internship is a way to gain insight into the workings industry with some hands on experience.
Some companies offer intern positions that might later on be converted to full time positions - which will be explicitly communicated to you. Other than that, internships do not guarantee a full time job and will mostly be dependent on the company that you work for.

Brian’s Answer
Internships will give experience that others, like myself, did not have when we graduated. I would highly encourage it even it involves moving somewhere unfamiliar, away from home.
Often this internship will give you the very first "real" job you have and after that you are off and going to chart your own path.
My advice:
- Just do it
- Work hard
- Show up early and leave late

Hi Kamaile, I agree with both answers above, whether the job is not guaranteed, there's a great chance that after you being immersed in a company, their processes, people and you performing well, we would like to have you!

Having hands on experience on the field is definitely a big plus and will definitely make your resume more attractive at the very least, although there is nothing that really guarantees a job :) This is from personal experience, since my first job out of college was a direct result of an internship I held for a year or so.

Internships are a great stepping stone towards getting a great job after graduation. Specifically for computer science, they can act as a bridge between the knowledge and learning that you get in college and getting to use that in a professional environment (real job). As an intern, you benefit from working in a real work environment while getting mentorship and support while learning the ropes.
In my case, I interned in a big computer/software company while in college, and it felt like I got to use all the theoretical knowledge from school in the real world. It also allowed me to explore what I liked to do after graduating. Many times, an internship also allows you to get a full-time job at the company you interned at - you get to see how that company operates and the company gets to observe you and your contributions.
So, my advice would be - definitely try to get an internship (maybe explore getting a couple in different years), use that to learn the skills for a professional role, learn in a lower-pressure situation and thus get better prepared when you really enter the workforce.
